Yarns we love: Sirdar Country Style DK

One of my favourite yarns to work with is the Sirdar Country Style DK. It's not a particularly flashy or extravagant yarn, which is mainly why I love it! It comes in a great range of colours, and is a total bargain at £3.95 for a 100g ball. I've managed to knit two jumpers so far in Country Style DK without breaking the bank!

One of these jumpers was the 'Maxfield' pattern from Rowan Dalesmen. The pattern asked for Rowan Felted Tweed DK, but the Country Style DK worked really well as a substitute.

The other jumper I'm doing is the 'Maeva' pattern from Rowan Nordic Tweed. This time I used the Country Style instead of Rowan Colourspun in the main body of the jumper.

This yarn is soft and warm, but still machine washable which is very handy. It currently comes in 100g balls with 15% wool, 45% Acrylic, 40% Nylon. Sirdar are re-launching this yarn in 50g balls, with a higher wool content of 30%, making it even cosier!

I can't wait to see the new range of colours, and get started on a new Spring project!
